The competition

Miss Universe, founded 1952. The 75th edition takes place on 24 November 2026 at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

France

It has competed since the earliest editions and is among the competition’s most constant entrants.

French titles

Two. Christiane Martel in 1953, Iris Mittenaere in 2016.

What changed

The Miss France organisation announced it would not send a candidate in 2026. Miss Universe has since begun putting a new French selection in place.

The selection

Open, with no regional title required beforehand, to women from every French region and territory, subject to the eligibility criteria set by the international organisation.

Applications

The official form was open from 14 August 2026 to 28 August 2026, inclusive, on this site. Selected candidates are chosen by the organisation’s leadership committee.
